"saturday:
-slept maybe...4 or 5 hours?
-phil left...went to the radio station with becca chris and sarah!
-greeted by rosssssssstar at wvau, who was surprisingly nice but is still an utter douchebag. he told us we dressed cool.
-two bitchy girls had alex and sam from pp on their show, we listened and kind of watched...while looking up info on fugazi.
-alex and sam answered questions for becca - becca: "sean paul?" alex: "he brings it to the masses!" it was better than the lame questions that the two girls asked (how's tour going?)
-food and rest for an hour before heading to dupont.
-get to dupont while phantom planet's soundchecking, it's the best music i've ever heard (half hour of them just continuously playing "dance music").
-phantom planet plays. it is good. they bring rock back to the masses.
-alex isn't on crack, he's just vegan...and does drugs on the side. best vegan pastry shop in dc? sticky fingers on 18th and T.
-we stand in line while being cold, talk to some weird dude in front of us.
-chris buys a card with a big woman on the front holding an oversized bra. it says "thanks." on the inside, it says "my cups have runneth over." alex writes "yes, they have." everyone loves the card.
-i hate meeting famous people, as usual. jacques signs with my name, which was nice. sam and alex say "hi again." it's def the leopard coat (thanks kanoodle. it's been fun). there is no jason schwartzman (?); the new drummer is quiet."

fallout boy: 26/04/03
i needn't mention the amount of shit i'm going to get for saying pete wentz was 'kinda cute' - but this one i still talk about as it stands as one of, if not the worst pick-up line anyone has ever used on me.
"we interviewed fallout boy, well one of the guys really. he was only my age, which was a theme of the weekend....too many young kids in these bands, i swear. give me an aaron barrett or a matt skiba anyday over kids who make me feel old. oh, but this other guy from fallout boy kept popping in on the interview - the one i told allison could be kinda cute in the promo photo - and he hit on me v. badly ("oh, you can check out the sheet if you want" "...or i could check YOU out")."

welcome to my blog.
hello readers! this introductory post is just to explain what's going on in this here blog. a couple months ago, i re-discovered an old journal of mine, which had some very interesting retellings of encounters with various bands and musicians. i realised, sharing these short stories again, that they were actually interesting, and, at times, really funny...and for that, worth sharing in one place. i don't expect this to be a big hit with a lot of people - it may only concern myself, a handful of friends and family, and maybe fans of the various bands mentioned. i may be wrong...in a day when we follow a person's every move on twitter - a person we don't even know - maybe stories involving minor celebrities will be a hit. i hope you enjoy it.
the entries will occur approximately weekly, and will be taken word for word from original entries in various journals and blogs i have written.
